Falling pillar kills student
A 13-year-old student was killed when a pillar in a two-floor school building in Luoyang, Henan province, collapsed on Monday, the Oriental Today newspaper in Zhengzhou said yesterday.
The family of the student said the cement pillar contained no reinforcing steel, but the claim is yet to be confirmed by local education authorities.
