Newly weds forgo honeymoon for charity

Newly weds from Taiyuan, capital of Shanxi province, donated the money they had saved for their honeymoon to a local charity last month to mark the beginning of life together.

The 5,000 yuan ($730) donation was the first the charity has ever received from a newly married local couple who were both ordinary wage earners born in the 1980s, a generation that was thought to have felt less responsibility for society than their parents.
