Chinese financial institutions should look for the right opportunities for further investments in the US financial sector, Tang Shuangning, chairman of China Everbright Bank, said at a financial forum held by Sina.com.

Tang, former vice-chairman of the national banking regulator, said the subprime crisis could worsen in the coming months. He also suggested the government set up a buffer fund to stabilize the domestic stock market.
