Festivals are an important occasion for celebration of togetherness and happiness for cultures around the world.

The people of Guizhou in southwest China enjoy an abundance of them - up to 1,000 festivals a year due to various minority groups in the province.

The rites have different origins and form, but they are all closely linked by distinctive dress, songs and dances.
