Senior officials sacked in Sept

Sept 11: Ji Chuntang, mayor of Shijiazhuang, was sacked after local dairy company Sanlu Group sparked a nationwide baby formula scandal.

Sept 14: Meng Xuenong, 59, Shanxi governor, resigned with the approval of local legislature, following the Sept 8 landslide of an illegal mineral dump in Tashan that claimed at least 265 lives.

Zhang Jianmin, vice-governor of Shanxi, was also removed from his post.
