Photographer Yu Zihan was surprised to find that her simple idea to promote her studio would lead to the creation of a new kind of personalized photo handbag.

"Why not carry our photos wherever we go so we can advertise ourselves for free?" says 27-year-old Yu, recalling the idea that inspired her to design a handbag with a slit down the side to insert your photo.

Several months ago, Yu's Heitong (Black Eye) studio was asked to photograph a female customer and to mount the photo on a board. The woman then called suddenly to say she needed it urgently because she was flying abroad four hours later.
