Rhythms of the night

Kilimanjaro African Bar takes its theme to heights worthy of the mountain from which it takes its name.

The nightspot is lavishly decorated with hundreds of handicrafts from more than 10 African countries, including Tanzania, Congo and especially Kenya, where owner Shi Yang lived for three years.

In addition to tribal masks, statues and a mounted gazelle head is a collection of 10 drums - some as much as 150 years old - which patrons are invited to thump on.
