Rural village management

The first-ever offering of a university degree in rural development and management must be lauded, says an article in People's Daily. The following is an excerpt:
Henan Agricultural University's offering of a degree in rural development and management has attracted 60 students. It is believed these graduates will be most suitable for rural grassroots management.
It is right for universities to offer new courses to meet changing needs. About 30 years ago taking a degree in math, physics or chemistry was popular due to the lack of such graduates. Fifteen years ago, taking a degree in economics or business management became popular because of China's reform and opening up.
