Two Olympics, equal splendor

This was a solemn commitment by the Chinese government to the world. Since winning the bid to host the 2008 Olympics and Paralympics, the Beijing municipal government began undertaking meticulous preparations for the two events, with the same organizing committee, the same venues and the same services. Also, during the design and construction of all sport venues and facilities, the needs of people who have disabilities were fully considered. Equally glorious opening and closing ceremonies, equally smiling volunteers and equally enthusiastic audiences ensured the Beijing municipal government's commitments were fulfilled.
