'Polished' teeth not to young man's taste

One night earlier this month, Zhang, a young migrant worker, found something was wrong with the light in his lodging in Qingdao, Shandong province.

He then went to brush his teeth in the dark, but the toothbrush had a strange taste when he put it in his mouth. With the help of a lighter, he found he had mistaken shoe polish for toothpaste.
