Police to crack down on illegal cricket gambling

Police say they will crack down on illegal cricket gambling taking place in Beijing's Xuanwu district, after residents living nearby complained about noise disturbance to the community.

Crowds betting from 300 yuan ($44) to 1,000 yuan on the games involving a pair of fighting insects caused annoyed residents to lodge complaints with local authorities.
