Premier traveling to UN

Premier Wen Jiabao will attend the UN high-level meeting on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) on Sept 25 in New York, the Foreign Ministry announced yesterday.

Representatives from some 150 countries, including more than 90 heads of state or government, are expected to attend the event, which will be convened by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon with the aim to generate further actions to reach the MDGs by 2015. Wen will also attend the general debate of the 63rd session of the UN General Assembly, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu told a regular press conference.
