Dialogue 'key to relations'

By Diao Ying | China Daily | Updated: 2008-09-16 07:44

Both of the main US presidential candidates have emphasized in their China policy the common interests of the two countries and called for increased dialogue.

In statements published by the American Chamber of Commerce in China, John McCain and Barack Obama said the two sides should further cooperate in many fields including climate change.

"The US shares common interests with China that can form the basis of a strong partnership on issues of global concern, including climate change, trade and proliferation," said Republican candidate McCain in his statement published on the AmCham website yesterday.
