Import tax cut

The government has decided to slash import taxes on spare parts of some heavy machinery equipment, in a bid to boost development of the manufacturing sector, the finance ministry said. Taxes levied on domestic companies importing key spare parts for large equipment - including ultra- and extra-high voltage transmission equipment and transformers, and large coal-chemical equipment - would be refunded to the companies as investment from the nation, it said.
