'Just an inconvenience'

Jiang Xintian, the speech-and-hearing impaired emcee of China's Disabled People Performing Art Troupe, was taken aback when she heard the news. "I had been picked as the anchor woman for the Paralympic Games torch lighting ceremony in the Temple of Heaven," Jiang says as she recalls that moment two months ago, in rapid sign language.
