Festival celebrates classical as magical

Want to educate your children about Chinese culture? Take them to the first Traditional Chinese Culture Festival being held by the Museum of Beijing Temple of Confucius and the Imperial College.

The festival, which aims to create awareness of traditional customs, music and costumes, opened on Sept 10 (International Teacher's Day) and will go on till Oct 7 (the Double Ninth Day). It features a series of activities such as lectures and performances.

"The ancient architecture and relics here provide a solemn atmosphere for paying respect to our teachers and the elderly," says Ma Fazhu, the former director of the Museums.
