Death toll up to 178

The death toll from Monday's mudslide in Shanxi province stood at 178 as of 5 pm Friday, with 35 people reported injured, the rescue headquarters said.

An investigation team comprising officials from the State Administration of Work Safety, the Shanxi provincial government, the Ministry of Supervision, the Ministry of Land and Resources, and the All China Federation of Trade Unions has been set up, the State Council said.
