Three Gorges to mark milestone

YICHANG: The water level of the Three Gorges Dam will be raised to 175 m this month marking the third and final phase of the project's construction, authorities said yesterday.

However, the Yangtze River Water Resources Committee, and the China Three Gorges Project Corporation (CTGPC), the builder, did not give an exact date when the water level will be raised.

The level, as of 10 am yesterday, was 145.84 m a CTGPC source said.
