Most Chinese stocks rose yesterday in a rebound from sharp drops on Monday, but turnover shrank further and weak oil and property shares limited gains by the main index.
The Shanghai Composite Index, which dropped 2.68 percent on Monday to a 21-month closing low, ended up 0.11 percent at 2145.78 points, off an intra-day low of 2114.5.
But turnover in Shanghai A shares shrank to 21.7 billion yuan, its lowest level since October 2006, from Monday's 27.5 billion yuan.
