Death toll hits 17
The death toll from a blast at a coal mine in Sichuan rose to 17 yesterday, with one person still missing, local authorities said.
As of 3 pm yesterday, all of the bodies had been retrieved from the pit and the victims' relatives had signed contracts of compensation with the mine, the Sichuan provincial work safety administration said.
