Hu sends congratulatory message

President Hu Jintao extended his sincere congratulations and well wishes to newly-elected Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari yesterday.

China and Pakistan are friendly neighbors that are joined by common mountains and rivers, and peoples of the two countries have developed an all-weather friendship, said Hu in a congratulatory message.

In the last 57 years since the establishment of bilateral ties, the two sides trust each other and treat each other as equals politically, share a mutually beneficial cooperation and common development economically, and enjoy remarkably fruitful and ever expanding exchanges and cooperation in other fields, Hu said.
