A special state luncheon held for Paralympic guests

President Hu Jintao pledged on Saturday that China will do its utmost to meet its promise of holding two Games - the Beijing Olympics and the Beijing Paralympics - "with equal splendor".

At a state luncheon for visiting dignitaries at the Great Hall of the People prior to the opening ceremony of the Paralympics, Hu proposed a toast saying the Paralympics inspires people with and without disabilities to "interact in the same global family, enjoy equal rights and build a harmonious world together".
