Clothed in grandeur

The light in the exhibition hall of the Meridian Gate (Wu Men) of the Palace Museum may be dim, but the place itself looks bright, thanks to the exhibits.

On display are 103 sets of imperial court costumes of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), chosen from a collection of more than 100,000.

Despite going back several hundred years, the embroidered costumes, with their luxurious colors of yellow, red, azure and brown, look as good as new.
