World's top galleries coming to Beijing

Art Beijing, one of China's biggest annual art events, will kick off this Saturday and bring together works from top galleries around the world.

Nearly 100 galleries will show hundreds of their cherished artworks from Sept 6 to 9 at the Agricultural Exhibition Center, offering a panoramic view of leading contemporary art

For instance, Platform China, a top Chinese contemporary art institute, famed for its collections of visual art, performance art, experimental music and new media, will be involved in Photo Beijing, the first Asian Photo Expo with works of young avant-garde artists Chen Wei and Sun Xun. It is the first time Sun Xun's animation trilogy -- Lie, Coal Spell and The New China -- completed in Shanghai, Platform China and Hammer Museum in LA, will be shown as a combo.
