Date for federal vote set
Germany will hold its next federal election on Sept 27, 2009, Interior Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble said yesterday.
Schaeuble told reporters he had signed a motion for the vote to be held on the widely expected date, which still has to be approved by the Cabinet and signed by the German president. Under German law, federal elections are held every four years.
