Prosecutor gets 20 years
Indonesia's corruption court yesterday sentenced a former top prosecutor to 20 years in prison for bribery and extortion, saying he had "ruined" the reputation of the attorney-general's office.
The case of Urip Tri Gunawan, a former public prosecutor in the attorney-general's office, attracted considerable attention because it exposed corruption at the very heart of the state's legal offices.
