Ancient route ends in Henan

The lighting of the cauldron by torchbearer, Liu Zhengwei, at the Biaozhishi Square in Luoyang, Henen, brought to a close the Ancient China route of the relay yesterday.

The torch arrived in Beijing in the afternoon to join the torch taken on the Modern China route. The two will proceed as a single torch to the Bird's Nest for the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games tomorrow.

The Luoyang leg was staged at the world famous Longmen Grotto, a World Cultural Heritage site.
