Costly ginseng
Nine pieces of ginseng were sold at an auction for 1.85 million yuan ($272,000) at the 2008 Jilin Ginseng Fair, the Xinhua News Agency said yesterday. One particular piece went for 860,000 yuan.
Investment contracts of 2 billion yuan were also signed to plant, process and develop ginseng products.
