'Stuff of legend'

There was a reason why some Chinese athletes were obsessed with Hollywood blockbuster Kungfu Panda in the run-up to the Olympic Games. First, it was good fun. Second, they were thinking about some of the rare wushu moves in the film.

'Stuff of legend'

Kung fu boxer Zou Shiming, who used to practice wushu, ran around the ring just like Master Monkey in the film. While keeping out of the way of trouble he kept punching his rivals.

The tactic, dubbed "pirate boxing" by Western reporters, saw the 27-year-old win all five bouts and make history when he snatched China's first boxing gold medal on Aug 24.
