Winners one and all: Ecuador top official

QUITO: The Beijing Paralympic Games will be as splendid as the Olympic Games, Ecuadorian Vice-President Lenin Moreno said on Monday.

Moreno said in a written interview with Xinhua News Agency that the Games, which opens on Saturday, displays "the determination and courage of those (disabled people) who are already winners as their presence shows victory against physical obstacles".

The event mirrors mankind's fight for equal rights and the efforts to fully realize the principles set by the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, he said.
