Maglev line delay

The multibillion-dollar extension of Shanghai's Maglev rail line to the tourist city of Hangzhou may be delayed due to a separate high-speed rail link already planned for the two cities, Hangzhou's mayor said yesterday.

Last month, the government of Zhejiang province, which includes Hangzhou, said on its website that the Zhejiang section of the 200 km extension would be built between 2010 and 2014, at a cost of 22 billion yuan ($3.22 billion).
