Stocks end mixed, financials strong

The main stock index rose yesterday, led by heavily weighted financial shares, but a slight majority of stocks fell and trade remained sluggish.
The Shanghai Composite Index ended up 0.34 percent at 2350.14 points.
Turnover in Shanghai A shares shrank to 28.5 billion yuan from 32.4 billion yuan on Wednesday.
