Investigator investigated

Yeh Sheng-mao, Taiwan's former chief investigator, was arrested yesterday for allegedly hiding information relating to an investigation into a suspected money-laundering case involving former Taiwan leader Chen Shui-bian, provincial officials said.

The island's "investigation bureau" said it received information from an anti-money laundering group on Jan 29 that Chen's daughter-in-law, Huang Jui-ching, had set up a bank account in the Cayman Islands and was suspected of laundering money. However, bureau head Yeh failed to submit the information to prosecutors in accordance with procedure.
