Japanese auto firms accelerate output

Toyota Motor Corp, Honda Motor Co and Nissan Motor Co, Japan's three-largest carmakers, increased global production last month to meet demand for fuel-efficient cars from emerging markets.
Toyota increased global production 9 percent to 720,923 vehicles, Honda boosted output 18 percent to 342,152 vehicles and Nissan raised production 27 percent to 315,975 vehicles, the companies said in separate statements yesterday.
