Sun wins case
Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd, India's most valuable drugmaker, said an Israeli court rejected Taro Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd's bid to delay a takeover of the company by Sun.
The ruling by the Tel Aviv court allows Sun to take a controlling stake in Taro, the Indian company said in an e-mailed release yesterday. Sun's shares rose as much as 2.8 percent yesterday in Mumbai to the highest since trading began in 1994. It fell 0.3 percent to 1,483.60 rupees at the 3:30 pm close.
