Court row over TV station dwarfism broadcast

Guangzhou Intermediate People's Court opened a public hearing recently of a special case filed by a 71-year-old patient surnamed Wang against a local TV station and a hospital in the provincial capital.

Wang, a deaf-mute, went to court after the TV station shot and broadcast frames in January that included her husband, son and granddaughter - all of whom have the condition known as dwarfism - in a special promotion commercial. The TV station shot the frames when local volunteer doctors came to see Wang at her home.
