SHANGHAI: The mainland's major stock index tumbled 3.63 percent yesterday on investor concerns that the possible launch of the economic stimulus package is unlikely.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 91.56 points to close at 2431.72, with 742 out of 912 stocks closing lower. The Shenzhen Component Index sunk 3.38 percent, or 288.12 points, to close at 8243.03.
