Combat for kicks

In his latest hit play ZEN, South Korean director Chul-ki Choi mixes Chinese kungfu and acrobatics with Korean humor.

A highlight of the "Meet in Beijing 2008 Olympic Cultural Events", this comic performance is set in an ancient Chinese temple. A gang of thieves aims to steal a precious stone with mysterious powers from the temple.

ZEN follows on the success of Chul-ki Choi's other two pantomime comedies, Nanta and Jump. These shows received rave reviews when they were staged in China in 2005 and 2006. ZEN has inherited their style, but the location has shifted from modern South Korea to ancient China.
