Off Track ..... Picture of son on shoes motivates Lagat

Bernard Lagat's shoes will do more than support his feet when he tries to win his first-ever Olympic gold medal as an American citizen. They will also help inspire him.

The distance runner's sponsor Nike has emblazoned a picture of Lagat's son, Miika Kimutuai, onto the shoes, something Lagat says brings him extra power.

"I feel like I'm running with him," Lagat said. "He brings me a lot of power when I am running in one of the toughest competitions in the world.
