Zhang: Shooting film is my lifetime interest

Zhang Yimou, the widely-acclaimed director of the Olympics Opening Ceremony, has denied rumors that he is to become head of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television in Beijing.

Word was Zhang would end his directing career and become a bureaucrat but he says he has no intention of entering politics and insists that making films is his passion for life.
