The opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics held in the Bird's Nest on the evening of Aug 8 offered worldwide audiences Chinese cultural elements to appreciate.
Earlier in July, the China Central Television, the national broadcaster of the Olympics, was busy recommending a few foreign architects who participated in the construction of the Olympics-related projects.
Back in Sept 7, 2006, the Guangming Daily published an article on cultural self-reflection on Chinese traditional architecture. It advocated Chinese architectures should come onto the track of the international standards and thought highly of China's introduction of international bidding for the construction of major projects.
