Stabbing victim back in US

An American woman who was stabbed on Aug 9 at the Drum Tower in Beijing has been discharged from hospital, an official of Peking Union Medical College Hospital said yesterday. She is back in the US.

Barbara Bachman and husband Todd Bachman, a Minnesota businessman, were stabbed by an unemployed man, who later committed suicide by jumping from the second floor of the Drum Tower. Her husband died on the spot.

The Bachmans' son-in-law is the coach of the US men's volleyball team.,
