Plague of bollworms

A heat wave has triggered a massive infestation of pests in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, the local agricultural authority has said.

The pests, mainly the grass-eating bollworm, have infested 158,000 hectares of grassland 3,500-4,500 m above sea level, Mu Chen, head of the locus prevention and control department, said.
