Music to pump up spectators at venues

China Daily | Updated: 2008-08-13 08:20

Spectators are being treated to an eclectic mix of music to keep them entertained and pumped up during the Beijing Olympics.

Played during breaks between competitions, the tracks are a heady compendium of Chinese and Western hits, with the odd addition of a commentary.

Blondie's The Tide Is High has been proving to be a favorite at the weightlifting venue, which has also aired United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon's appeal for peace.
