Updated: 2008-08-12 08:15 Heating reform The heat pricing and billing reform is essential in addressing the inefficiencies in China's heating industry built on welfare-based principles, said a report by the Energy Sector Management Assistance Program, a global knowledge and technical assistance partnership administered by the World Bank since 1983. The reform will establish economic incentives for China's densely populated urban areas to use heat much more efficiently. Insurer supports orphans China Life, the country's largest life insurer, has signed a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Civil Affairs on raising orphans of the Sichuan earthquake in May. The company will give each orphan 600 yuan per month to cover their living costs until they reach 18. The donation will begin from December. Health concerns Overtime and health concerns ranked as the fourth most common reason for employees to change jobs, according to a survey from Zhaopin.com and Ciming Checkup, the country's largest health exam chain store. Many companies, especially foreign owned firms are now including employees' health as part of their corporate social responsibility commitment, the survey said. Italian campaign The Italian Trade Commission, Italian Ministry of Agriculture and VeronaFiere, a leading Italian exhibition company, yesterday jointly held a campaign in Beijing to better promote the country's food and wine brands in China. Companies such as Ferrero, the country's top chocolate producer and cheese maker Parmigiano-Reggiano all said they would pay more attention to the Chinese market to achieve faster growth in sales.
