Israel added to tour list

From Sept 15, travel groups from the mainland will be allowed to visit Israel and French Polynesia, the National Tourism Administration said yesterday.

The additions take the number of nations and regions open to such groups to 95, it said.

French Polynesia is a group of five islands in the southeast Pacific Ocean, of which Tahiti is the biggest.

Its volcanoes and lagoons make it a popular tourism destination, Xiao Dan, director of the Tahiti tourism promotion bureau in China, said.
