Off Track ..... Bryant welcomes Sun to Lakers

After China's men's basketball team fell to a galaxy of US stars on Sunday, US shooting guard Kobe Bryant praised China's latest export to the NBA.

China's 2.05m guard, Sun Yue agreed to terms with Bryant's club the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday and should join the team next season. Sun was impressive on Sunday, especially in his powerful block of US center Dwight Howard.

"Sun is an excellent player; his defense and control over the game are impressive," Kobe Bryant said after the game.
