Development help for Xinjiang

Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai municipalities and Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shandong provinces have signed 131 economic and technical cooperation agreements with Xinjiang as part of their efforts to help the latter's development.

Under the agreements the six will offer Xinjiang new technology, equipment and products in fields such as textiles, chemicals, machinery and communications, while Xinjiang will offer technical cooperation and compensation trade.

SOE heads face exam

With the approval of the State Council, China will carry out a unified examination of directors, deputy directors, managers and deputy managers of State-run enterprises.

The exam will cover principles and policies for economic construction and basic knowledge of business management.
