When a group of nine Olympians and Paralympians of the Tokyo 2016 Athletes' Commission recently inspected proposed sites for Olympic competition venues around the Dream Island, an artificial island formed through landfill in Tokyo Bay, environmental sustainability naturally became a highlight among matters of interest to the elite athletes.
