Uniting Our Worlds

On Aug 4, the Tokyo 2016 Bid Committee charged with obtaining the right for the city to host the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games unveiled its slogan: "Uniting Our Worlds".

The committee said its bid was anchored in an appreciation for the bonds between people that create communities - ties to the past that inspire the future, and the passion for sport that unites all.

Through the Olympics, Tokyo is planning to create a global celebration that will not only bring excitement to people across the globe but also help address some of the world's greatest challenges, from demographic issues to urban regeneration and environmental concerns. Tokyo 2016 promises to work wholeheartedly with the Olympic Family to achieve this goal.
